Do you know what your purpose is?

Have you ever thought about what your life’s purpose is? Or heard others ask that very same question? I’m going to propose we use our imagination.

Stretch a little bit here with me. What if we chose to come here during this time? What if we chose our parents and the families we grew up in? What if we even chose the lessons we are to learn while we’re here?

Now, imagine you have no idea what your purpose is. And you are the one that chose to come here during this time.

It seems a bit odd to consider this as a possibility if the aforementioned is true. But I believe there is an upside to this train of thought. What if your purpose is to KNOW YOUR-SELF fully? And by knowing yourself, I mean knowing the Truth of who you are, the Truth of your Light. Knowing and experiencing the person you are without all the limiting beliefs that you were programmed with through your culture, religion, school, parents and upbringing. Now that sounds light, doesn’t it?

When we experience challenges or perceived obstacles, what if the experience is FOR us – meaning there is something good that can come out of it (no matter how bad things seem). The truth is, we all go through pain in our lives. To have this shared experience makes us human and compassionate. And when we can heal our pain and get to the other side of it, we have an opportunity to BE a greater presence in this world for yourself and others. We have the opportunity to use our pain to help others, if you are called to do so. As you overcome obstacles and recognize your unique gifts, talents, and potential, and how they can contribute to the greater good of the world, you are being formed just like a diamond in the rough.

Did you know that diamonds don’t look like diamonds at first? Diamonds are formed from carbon atoms that are subjected to intense pressure and temperature in the Earth’s mantle, which lies between the Earth’s crust and its core. At the depths where diamonds are formed, the pressure can be more than 725,000 pounds per square inch, and temperatures can exceed 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit (1,200 degrees Celsius). It is under this extreme pressure that the crystal diamond lattice is formed.

Once the diamonds reach the Earth’s surface, they are known as “diamond rough” or “uncut diamonds.” In this raw form, diamonds may not exhibit the sparkling brilliance we associate with cut and polished diamonds. They actually have a dull, rough, and irregular surface. To bring out the beauty and brilliance of a diamond, it undergoes cutting and polishing.

Skilled diamond cutters study the rough stone’s shape, size, and internal characteristics to determine the best way to cut it. The cutting process creates facets, allowing the diamond to reflect and refract light, giving it its signature sparkle.

Are you seeing the analogy here? You are the carbon atoms. Extreme pressure and temperatures (aka challenges) are the forming process to create the diamond in the rough – you! And then with a skilled mentor/coach/energy healer, you get to see yourself as I do, and become a brilliant shining and beautiful diamond.

There are all sorts of ways you can know the truth of who you are, and I believe the best way to accomplish this is to support a person holistically – physically, emotionally and energetically. When you have a guide that can actually help you see your limitations or perceived truths, then the journey can be quite liberating (wink, wink, nudge, nudge….this is what I do). We often avoid seeing these things within ourselves for fear that the pain would be too difficult. But I can tell you from personal experience, it can feel like the exact opposite. It’s the fear of looking within that is actually worse than looking within. And once we take that leap of faith, all the pieces of the puzzle start to come together in your way of Being, and your life.

So next time you contemplate or hear a conversation about your life’s purpose, consider the fact that the unraveling of your paradigms and limiting beliefs to expose the true you is your life’s purpose. And whatever is showing up in your path along the way is actually there to propel you forward to the diamond that is YOU!

The trick is, if you don’t see this bigger picture, and simply focus on the challenges/obstacles that life brings to you, then you really are missing the point. Our challenges help form and shape us. They help us see the beauty of who we truly are as we transcend them. remember, you can do this uncovering process with or without perceived challenges in your life. The key is to remember that you are not your personality or the identity that you have created for yourself. And your purpose, should you choose to accept, is to uncover and KNOW YOUR SELF (your Higher Self, the One that was created in the image of the Creator). Here are a few ways below that we can connect. If this resonates for you, connect with me here.
